Architect and urban designer, working as a senior lecturer at the Chair of the History and Theory of Urban Design, at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture (GTA) of the Departement of Architecture at the ETH in Zürich (Switzerland), where he teaches courses on the agency of architecture, urban planning and design facing the major challenges of contemporary cities like inequality, segregation, gentrification, and climate change. He leads the research group on the foundations of urban design, and is participating in the development of a new research project examining ‘architecture between worldmaking and coloniality’ in countries of the Global South. He writes book reviews on architecture, urban design, philosophy for the Dutch newspapers Nederlands Dagblad and Friesch Dagblad, and contributes regularly to the website ArchiNed and other (online) magazines on architecture and the city in The Netherlands.
